Fox wrestlers fierce in Western Canada meet

Kristi Roots of the Terry Fox Ravens powered her way to a gold medal at the Western Canada Age Class high school wrestling tournament last weekend in Kamloops. Roots won all four of her matches via pins in her 75 kg Juvenile weight division.

Other Ravens to claim gold were Kyle Sagmoen (110 kg Cadet) and Mitch Alford (69 kg Cadet).

Alana White (82 kg Juvenile) earned silver, along with Kieren Milton (over-82 kg Juvenile), while Marko Bevanda (92 kg Cadet) and Michelyn Bell (over-82 kg Juvenile) earned bronze.

More than 600 grapplers from B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan competed in the meet.
