A Dr. Charles Best secondary school grad, Freeman also collected three rebounds as the No. 5-ranked Cascades out-scored the Spartans 32-13 in the third quarter to blow open a tight game.

The Cascades finished the regular season at 13-5 with playoffs looming.

In Alaska, Port Coquitlam's Kristina Collins chipped in with 10 points as the Simon Fraser Clan beat the host Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks 74-64 Thursday in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference (NCAA Div. 2) showdown.

A former Riverside Rapids high school star, Collins hit four straight clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

SFU improved to 9-4 in GNAC play and 14-7 overall.
