A goaltending duel ended in a 1-1 draw between the Port Moody Redcaps and CCB Tigers in boys U16 Division 1 soccer Saturday.

Alex Brown controlled the back end and thwarted numerous Tiger attacks throughout the game.

Scott Gaudette went above the crowd to connect with a Yutaka Yen corner kick and stake the Redcaps to a 1-0 lead. Anton Pisaryk, Tony Blazevic, Kieran Maurice and Rory McKay had excellent chances to extend the Redcaps' lead but were denied by the CCB keeper. Brown also made numerous saves in the second half before the Tigers were able to get the equalizer in the final 30 seconds. Arash Borairi, Brad Gregory and Joseph Moon also had strong games.

A strong team effort helped the Port Moody Quicksilver to their first win of the year on Sunday.

Ellie Langr was unbeatable in the Quicksilver net as Port Moody stopped the Langley FC Jaguars 1-0 in U17 girls Division 2 action.

Leading scorer Vanessa Velo capitalized on a penalty kick for the game's only goal.

Langr came up with big stops on a pair of free kicks from the top of the Quicksilver box in the second half. Captain Jenna Jessa along with Pareesa Kassam, Kailyn Babey and Lori Jiang turned in strong defensive performances for the Quicksilver whose lineup remains depleted by injury.

The CMFSC U12 Renegades continued their dominant defensive play with a 3-0 win over the West Coast Wolves in Pitt Meadows.

Claudia Carbone opened the scoring in the first half, with Ava Mongrain and Chanelle Prestia finding the goal in the second half.

Strong defensive efforts by Laura Marshall and Milena Wilson helped Diana Emelianova record her second straight shutout.

Emelianova earlier secured a shutout with a 1-0 win over the West Coast Selects. Christa Tascona competed a beautiful run from her own end for the game's only goal.
