Heritage Woods secondary school senior Eric Dove is set to join an elite group of seven recently recruited by the Trinity Western Spartans men's soccer squad for the upcoming season.

A striker, the five-foot-nine Dove's formative soccer seasons were spent with Coquitlam Metro-Ford. Starting in 2012, he added overseas experience to his impressive playing resume, after training at the Genova International School of Soccer and Italy's Serie B side Ascoli Calcio.

This past fall, Dove returned home to Coquitlam, where he helped boost Metro-Ford to the BC Soccer Premier League championship and cup championship. He also played a key role in Coquitlam Metro-Ford Sparta's capturing of the U18 Canadian national championship, leading his team in tournament scoring.

Dove, who plans to study either business or psychology at TWU, said the soccer program's stellar reputation attracted him to the Langley-based school. "I think Trinity Western is a great fit for me, both academically and athletically," he said in the press release.
