Keel to play for Team BC

Coquitlam golfer Jisoo Keel has been granted a spot on the Team British Columbia roster for the 2012 Royale Cup Canadian Junior Girls' Championship, being held July 31 to Aug. 3 at River Spirit Golf Club in Calgary.

Coquitlam golfer Jisoo Keel has been granted a spot on the Team British Columbia roster for the 2012 Royale Cup Canadian Junior Girls' Championship, being held July 31 to Aug. 3 at River Spirit Golf Club in Calgary.

The board of directors of British Columbia Golf granted her a roster spot based on her past representation, successes and her continued dedication and eagerness to represent British Columbia on the national stage.

Keel is unable compete at the British Columbia Junior Girls' Championship at the Osoyoos Golf and Country Club July 10 to 13 due to scheduling commitments associated with Team Canada. Typically, the top-3 performers from the B.C. Junior Girls' are granted a representative position on Team BC.

As a result of the roster exemption given to Keel, the individual who finishes third at the B.C. Junior Girls' Championship will be provided with a subsidy to attend nationals equal to that of being a member of Team BC.

Keel, a 17-year-old amateur, is also expected to compete at the 2012 CN Canadian Women's Open Aug. 20 to 26 at the Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam.
