Coquitlam Metro-Ford Panthers surrendered the game's first goal Sunday. Then they shifted into all-out attack.

The girls Under-16 Silver 'A' soccer side pumped in four unanswered second-half goals on way to a 5-1 triumph over the Kerrisdale Stingers.

After Jessica Appelbaum knotted the count 1-1 before the first half expired, Jill Forsyth netted what proved the game winner early in the second frame.

Chenille Lefleur then struck for back-to-back goals before Dana Townsend wrapped up the scoring with a late marker.

CMF Synergy struck the crossbar and goalpost during their frantic bid for the equalizer in a tough 3-2 defeat Sunday to the Golden Ears Xtreme in a girls U-18 Gold showdown at Charles Best field.

The Synergy trailed 2-0 early before Kaitlin Ahonen cut the gap to one before the intermission. Melanie Prentice then pulled the Synergy even 2-2 midway through the second half but Golden Ears followed that with a header goal off a corner kick for the eventual winner.

Defenders Veronica Brindamour and Kamila Rogic McLean were standouts in a losing effort.

Jenna Kear tapped home a long throw-in by Liz Stewart as the CMF Dynamite trimmed the Pitt Meadows Rockets 1-0 in a girls U14 Bronze contest Sunday.

The Dynamite's back-line of Jenny Varley, Sara Goncalves and Caitlin Liborion were strong in limiting the Rockets' scoring chances in front of goalie Justyna Pomalecki.

Katie Randall and Amelia Knight were also instrumental in the win.

CMF Dynamo picked the worst possible time to stub their collective toe, falling 2-0 Saturday to North Coquitlam United in the first round of the boys U-16 Silver 'A' Cup district playdowns.

The Dynamo -- coached by Dave Grender, Adam Weir and Ken Williams -- went undefeated in regular-season play to capture the league crown and secured a berth in the Conference Cup, to be played in March.

Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club is currently planning for the 2011 Super Y League season with seven teams being entered, including U-13 to U-16 boys and U-13 to U-15 girls.

Online registration for player evaluations must be made by next Wednesday, Feb. 23 at www.cmfsc.ca.
