Lin brothers clean up on badminton court

Brothers Paxton and Nestor Lin took home a few medals at the under-13 Junior Badminton Championships in Victoria last weekend.

Brothers Paxton and Nestor Lin took home a few medals at the under-13 Junior Badminton Championships in Victoria last weekend.

Paxton, a Grade 5 student at Panorama heights elementary, played in the high division, taking home gold and silver in the single and double events.

Nestor, Paxton's older brother, also had some success in the tournament.

The 12-year-old Summit middle student took home bronze in the mixed doubles event with partner Valeena Heukelom.

This is not the first time the siblings have seen success on the badminton court.

Back in April, Nestor took gold in the under-12 boys provincial championships in both mixed-doubles and singles, defeating second-place finisher Jadon Tsang.

The Summit middle student has played the sport for the last two and half years and has won several smaller tournaments before his trip to the podium at last week's provincial championships.
