Coquitlam's David Otterman of the UBC Thunderbirds men's baseball team has been named to the All-NAIA West Team, it was announced today (Monday).

The third-year pitcher Otterman posted a 5-3 record and 3.00 earned run average in 12 games this season for the T-birds. After surrendering a home run in his first game, he didn't allow another the rest of the campaign.

Otterman gave up just 47 hits in 69 innings and opponents hit a paltry .193 against him, a category in which he led the entire NAIA West Conference.

He is also a strong candidate to be chosen in the 2012 Major League Baseball first-year player draft starting June 4.
