Catrina Olstrom scored with 15 minutes left in the game to help the Centennial Centaurs defeat the Riverside Rapids in AAA high school girls' soccer Wednesday night.
Olstrom broke the stalemate in the end-to-end contest, that saw numerous scoring chances for both teams.
Cents goalkeeper Veronica Aguiar was named first star of the game for several key saves that kept her team alive, including a breakaway stop with five minutes left to go.
Meanwhile, the Charles Best Blue Devils maintained their position at the top of the North Fraser Division league standings.
The team defeated the second place Terry Fox Ravens in a decisive 4-0 win that maintained the Coquitlam school's unbeaten record.
The Heritage Woods Kodiaks also notched a 3-2 win against Maple Ridge, while Port Moody is still searching for its first victory of the season after a 2-0 defeat against Gleneagle.
Next week, Gleneagle will take on Riverside, while Terry Fox will play the Centaurs. Charles Best will play Maple Ridge and Port Moody will take on Heritage Woods.
