Daniel Szpakowski’s goal with 5:13 left in the third period was the difference as in the Port Moody Panthers’ 4-3 win over the Aldergrove Kodiaks in their Pacific Junior Hockey League game Saturday at Port Moody Arena.
The goal also made Szpakowski the team’s all-time leading scorer.
After a scoreless first period, the Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the second intermission. They added another from Cameron Judson early in the third before the Kodiaks battled back to make it 3-2.
The win was the Panthers’ first of the season, against one loss. They play the Richmond Sockeyes at the Richmond Arena on Thursday.
