Port Moody Panthers captain Wolfgang Schoenefuhs helped the Brittain Conference All-Stars to a 10-8 win over the Shaw All-Stars Monday night in Abbotsford.
Schoenefuhs, a 19-year-old Port Coquitlam product, was the lone representative for the Panthers at the Pacific Junior Hockey League showcase.
"We are so proud of the personal achievements of Wolfgang this season," said Panthers GM and head coach Jamie Jackson. "Being chosen to represent our organization and community at the PJHL All-Star Game is a tribute to the hard work, dedication and work ethic shown by Wolfgang as well as the commitment and contributions of his teammates."
Schoenefuhs leads the Panthers in scoring with 12 goals and 34 points in 35 games.
"As an organization, from top to bottom, we are committed to the development and advancement of our players," said Jackson. "We will work as hard as we possibly can to develop all of our players to achieve elite status and assist them to move up to higher levels of the hockey."
The Panthers fell 5-3 to the visiting Ridge Meadows Flames Saturday night. Sammy Zeinab staked the Cats to a 1-0 lead in the first period but three-second period goals put the Flames on top.
Nicco Marconato added a third-period marker for Port Moody and Schoenefuhs pulled the Panthers to within one on the power play with 2:28 remaining. An empty-netter sealed the win for Ridge Meadows. Christian Plain made 18 saves for the Cats, who outshot Ridge Meadows 29-23.
The Mission City Outlaws stopped the Panthers 4-1 on Thursday. Kurt Sonne supplied Port Moody's goal.
The Panthers are in Abbotsford to take on the Pilots Friday night and will host the Grandview Steelers at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at the Port Moody Arena.
