Colin Catchpole won't be getting a Christmas card from any of the Port Moody Panthers this season.

The Langley Knights forward feasted on the Cats' defence Saturday night at the Port Moody Arena, scoring three goals and a helper in a win for the Fraser Valley squad.

The 20-year-old forward opened the scoring for the visitors and had two goals before the first period came to an end.

Meanwhile, Port Moody struggled in the offensive zone, with only Reece Bartel able to put the puck past Langley goalie Nickolas Trenciansky in the first 20 minutes.

Langley's Donovan Shambeau also scored in the first period to make it 3-1 for the visitors at the first intermission.

The Knights dominated the play in the middle frame as well, with a third goal from Catchpole and a marker from line mate Carson Rose on the power play.

Port Moody's Daniel Obscena also factored in on the scoring, tallying the Cats second goal of the evening.

The Panthers Evan Gain scored on the power play early in the third, but the Knights added two more goals, one from Jackson Surbey assisted by Catchpole and a second from Donovan Shambeau.

When the dust settled, Langley was up 7-3.

Catchpole was named first star of the game for his efforts.

Port Moody goalie Spencer Kozlowski stopped 29 of the 36 shots he faced, while Trenciansky stopped 25 of 28.

Port Moody was scheduled to play Langley Thursday night after The Tri-City News' deadline and will be on the road for the next week. The club is back at the Port Moody Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22, for a meeting with the Richmond Sockeyes. For more information go to www.portmoodypanthers.com.
