Tri-City climber Kyle Murdoch won a gold medal at the Sport Climbing B.C. provincial championships in Sanich last weekend.
The Port Coquitlam athlete finished first in the youth 'A' male division, and managed a third-place showing in the open division, tied with Mission climber Jesse Taplin.
Murdoch was not the only Tri-City climber to bring home some hardware after last weekend's event.
Ben Hughes of Port Moody took silver in the youth 'A' male division, edging out Connor Schellenberg of West Vancouver for the second spot on the podium.
Another Coquitlam climber, Matthew Witwicki took silver in the youth 'C' male division, while Hayden Jones took silver in the youth 'B' male category. Benjamin Ross, Joseph Witwicki and Burke Jurjaks also competed in the weekend event.
On the female side, Coquitlam climber Julia Massullo took bronze in the youth 'B' category, while Port Moody climber Sydney Ross took third in the open followed by Port Coquitlam's Nicola Williams.
Danielle Massullo took second in the youth 'C' category, while Coquitlam Tatum Oyama took third.
Danielle Massullo also competed in the Sport Climbing B.C. provincial championship.
The Sport Climbing Association of British Columbia was established in 2012 to be the Provincial Sport Organization for competition climbing in British Columbia.
