The Port Coquitlam Express took home first place after besting the Abbotsford Storm 1-0 in the under-13 District League Soccer Championship finals in North Delta last weekend.
Nicholas Garofalo scored the lone marker in the 1-0 win, helping his club, led by coach Rob Sumner and assistants Nigel Wheeler and Kevin Milligan, hoist the district banner.
The victory wraps up an impressive year for the Express.
The squad netted 22 goals during its regular season campaign and a stingy defense held all opponents to just one goal against.
