Port Coquitlam's Brittany Rogers won the Kate Richardson Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year award at the Gymnastics BC annual awards reception earlier this week.
According to a press release Rogers, who was also honoured for her contributions to Canada's Olympic gymnastics team, received the award for her comeback from injury this year.
She was not the only Tri-City athlete to be recognized at the gala.
Coquitlam's Helga Ovington was named a Life Member of the association for her work in the development and growth of the Wings Gymnastics in Burnaby.
Coquitlam's Sandra Hartley won National Stream Athlete of the Year, while Svetlana Lashina and Vladimir Lashin, also of Coquitlam, won the Sev Heiberg National Stream Coaches of the Year award.
Mary Morice, another Coquitlam gymnast, won the Leader of the Year award and Port Coquitlam athlete Kyle Carragher was named National Male Trampoline Gymnastics Athlete of the Year.
