The Port Moody Black Panthers' run for the Cyclone Taylor Cup ended on Sunday after the team posted back-to-back losses against the Abbotsford Pilots.

After losing Game 1 and 2 last week Port Moody desperately needed a win last Friday when the team took on the Pilots at the MSA Arena in Abbotsford.

Instead they took an 8-1 drubbing, with the lone goal come from Richard Moul late in the opening frame.

Abbotsford piled on points, with Justin Dorey racking up one goal and three assists and Bradley Parker netting two goals in the game.

On Saturday the Black Panthers had a more spirited effort, but still came up short.

The team fell behind 2-0 in the first ten minutes of the game but played their best period of the series in the middle frame.

Goals from Tyson Solotki, Trevor Kang and Cameron Patterson helped Port Moody take the lead.

But the Black Panthers struggled again, surrendering a shorthanded goal to the Pilots before the Abbotsford squad took the lead with one minute to go in the third period to win the 4-3 decision.
