Port Moody Panthers defenceman Reece Bartel will join some of the top talent in the Pacific Junior Hockey League when he plays in the league's all-star game next week.
The 19-year-old blueliner, who has six points this season with Port Moody, will represent the Tom Shaw Conference when the game gets underway on Monday at the Burnaby Winter Club.
"It's definitely an honour to be recognized by the league and I'm looking forward to representing the Panthers," he said. "There are a lot of great players in the PJHL and to be selected by coaches and personnel from the other teams is really special. There are a couple of former teammates on the Tom Shaw team like Daniel Delbianco and Adam Rota.
The 5'10", 175 lbs. defender is third in scoring among Panthers defenceman with four goals and two assists, but is steady in his own zone.
"As a second year player in the PJHL, we're pleased with Reece's development and he is well deserved f being selected for the all-star game," said Port Moody Panthers general manager Frank Iantorno. "We know he'll represent our organization and community properly and professionally."
