The Port Moody Redcaps played the Celtics in Ladner to a draw last weekend in under-17 Gold division boys soccer.
The home team took an early 2-0 lead over the Redcaps, who struggled to generate any offense in the first few minutes of the game. That changed in the second half, when the Port Moody team went on a scoring streak and managed to tie up the game in a matter of minutes.
For a brief time the Redcaps even led the game, when Connor Wong managed to put the ball in the net with an amazing header, however the Celtics responded with a goal of their own and the final score was 3-3.

The Port Moody Mercury struggled at home last week, dropping a 3-1 decision to the CCB Vipers in under-17 boys division two soccer.
Despite taking a 1-0 lead in the first half - a marker from Thomas Staddon - the Mercs never found their footing during the match. The team's offense dried up in the second and despite strong defensive efforts from Christian Knowles, Pasha Bavarsad and Rami Abbas and keeper Lukas Nuessler, the club could not hold off the Vipers, who won 3-1.

The Port Moody Storm rained on the Surrey Pegasus' parade last weekend.

Port Moody added to the tally in the second half when Hailey Counsell scored a hat trick and put the 5-0 game out of reach for the Surrey opponents. Two late goals from the Pegasus rounded out the scoring but the damage had been done and Port Moody walked away with a convincing 5-2 win, putting the Storm in first place in their division.

GUNNERS
The Coquitlam Gunners played Abbotsford to a 2-2 draw last weekend in Youth Premier soccer.
The team played well for the first 75 minutes, moving out to a 2-0 lead. Chris Attadia opened the scoring (26 mins) stroking home an Isaac Mendoza feed. Mendoza then scored on a wicked free kick (47mins) early in the second half.
Despite a goalpost, a terrific save off a header and two other great chances, the Gunners couldn't get the third goal that would have sealed the match. Abby got one back at 75 minutes then tied the game on a 91st minute penalty kick.
In division one soccer, the Gunners defeated the Port Moody Rangers 3-2, with goals from Steve Causier, Nima Ranji, and Santiago Vasquez.
Meanwhile, in division three soccer, the Gunners won a hard fought battle on Saturday against Aldergrove United.
Nathan Persoon scored the game's only tally after a stellar ticky-tacky play between the Bordignon brothers, Adam and Jordan. The gunners also received solid defending from Nathan McKinnon and Owen Huggon in the centre at the back.
