The Port Moody Redcaps secured a playoff berth after defeating the CCB Elite 2-1 in a shootout in under-17 gold soccer last week.
The game was an important one for the Redcaps, who had lost to the Elite earlier in the season and needed points to make it into the post season.
It was a tightly played match, with no goals scored after the first 70 minutes.
Nicholas On finally broke the deadlock for the Redcaps, scoring on a penalty kick, however the opponents quickly responded with a goal of their own.
When time ran out, the game was tied 1-1 and penalty kicks would be needed to decide the game.
It took until the eight round for a decision, after a CCB Elite forward bounced the ball off the crossbar and failed to scored on his shot.
The Redcaps took the game 2-1 and now gear up for the post-season.
