Port Moody wrestlers bring home medals

Port Moody secondary's wrestling team took home some hardware after last weekend's B.C. High School Provincial Wrestling Championships in Prince George. Ciara McCrae snagged a gold medal in the 51 kg category after defeating St.

Port Moody secondary's wrestling team took home some hardware after last weekend's B.C. High School Provincial Wrestling Championships in Prince George.

Ciara McCrae snagged a gold medal in the 51 kg category after defeating St. Thomas More's Ciara Corbett in the finals, while teammate Jessica Nowicki grabbed gold in the 69 kg category. Beth Potts, another Port Moody students, grabbed silver in the competition.

Centennial secondary was also represented at the tournament.

Taylor Mason took bronze in the 51 kg category while Sunita Sewak also took bronze in the 57 kg category.

In total, Port Moody's team took 44 points in the competition - taking second place overall - behind St. Thomas More, which had 73 points. Centennial took seventh with 18 points.
