A great start resulted in a fantastic finish Friday for the Terry Fox Ravens.
The Ravens darted to a 21-11 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 73-64 victory over the White Rock Christian Warriors in the the B.C. AAA senior boys high school basketball semifinals at Langley Events Centre.
The win put the No. 5-ranked Ravens in position to win their first provincial title since they did so back-to-back in 1993 and '94 when they face Langley's Walnut Grove Gators in tonight's title tilt, 8 p.m.
The No. 6 Gators advanced to the final after shaving the No. 4 Vancouver College Fighting Irish 61-60 in the other semi.
Jesse Crookes paced the Ravens with 18 points, including three treys. Trevor Casey and six-foot-seven Ryan Sclater, Fox's top scorer their first two tournament games, added 15 and 12 points respectively as the Ravens took command with a 40-24 halftime margin.
Sclater also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
