The Coquitlam Metro-Ford Aftershock are gearing up for the quarterfinals in B.C. Coastal Cup play after defeating the North Shore Thunder 3-2 in overtime last week.

Coquitlam took the lead early with a goal from Alexa Nielsen, but North Shore tied up before the first intermission. In the second half, the Thunder took the lead but a late Coquitlam goal from Olivia Gallina tied up the game.

That set the stage for Chanelle Prestia's overtime heroics, when she knocked in a goal with a couple minutes left in extra time.

Linnea Wong, Vanessa Porretti, Rosina Gallaccio and Elyssa Ricci all had strong games on defence. The team is now gearing up for a quarterfinal match that will take place this weekend.
