So far, the SFU Clan men’s soccer team is living up to its pre-season billing.

The Clan, which were favoured by Great Northwest Athletic Conference coaches to win a third straight GNAC championship, won for the third straight time Thursday, besting Cal State LA, 2-1, in Los Angeles.

Coquitlam’s Matteo Polisi extended his scoring streak to three games when he fired home a cross from Mamadi Camara in the 28th minute. Camara also set up Rahid Raheim’s winning goal in the 60th minute.

The Clan complete their California road trip on Saturday in Carson, where they’ll play the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros. They’ll then play a couple of games in Bismark, N.D. before heading home to play Montana State University Billings at Terry Fox Field in Burnaby on Sept. 20.
