Wins are not coming easy for the Coquitlam Adanacs, whose latest defeat came at the hands of the Victoria Shamrocks at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex last weekend.
Less than a week after a major shakeup that sent three players to the Langley Thunder, the team is still trying to find its way with the addition of Brandon Goodwin and Matthew MacGrotty.
Goodwin notched four assists in his first match with the senior Adanacs, who are now 4-7-1 on the season.
Victoria wasted little time establishing a lead on Saturday, putting three goals on the board before the end of the opening frame.
Goodwin managed to setup Mark Negrin for goal to to make it 3-1 before the first intermission. But the Shamrocks were undeterred.
The visitors kept up the offensive pressure in the second, scoring two early, including a power play marker from Jeff Shattler.
Coquitlam seemed to get its bearings later in the middle frame, with two goals from Daryl Veltman and singles from Ryan Keith, Jeff Sproule and Jesse Guerin. Veltman managed to complete the hat trick in the third, but it was not enough to give Coquitlam a lead and the team fell 13-9 when the final buzzer sounded.
The team will take on the Burnaby Lakers on Friday at the Bill Copeland Arena before returning home on Saturday night to take on Maple Ridge at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex. The game starts at 7 p.m.
