Coquitlam Metro-Ford TnT had to get past a familiar foe in their first league championship game in U15 girls soccer.
Kaisha Markiewicz scored in the final minute to give TnT a 1-0 win over the PoCo FC Fury. It was the fourth time the teams have met this season, all decided by one goal.
The first half of the game was dominated by strong defended, with TnT's defensive back threeofNicole Chersinoff, Isabel Antunes and Olivia Dawson keeping the Fury at bay while stopper Kirstin Davies battled through injury to play a monster game pushing the ball forward to the TnT midfield.
In the dying minutes, Tessa Weimer's cross found Natasha Calis deep in the Fury end who quickly played toRisako Kazemi at the corner of the box.Kazemi picked out Sarah Jetha in front, who decoyed and let the ball roll toan unmarked Markiewiczat the back post who put it into the back of the net to seal the win.
