A foursome from the Tri-Cities rounded out the leaderboard on the last day of the 2013 B.C. Golf Women's Amateur Championship on Thursday (June 27).
Port Coquitlam's Soo-Bin Kim retained a one-stroke lead through the final round of the tournament being played at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club, a par-74, 6220-yard course.
On Wednesday, Kim played in a stacked threesome that included fellow Tri-City native Jisoo Keel, who is headed to Stanford University in the fall, and past provincial champion Christine Wong of Richmond. Kim - a University of Washington junior golfer - dug deep, posting a two-round, five-under-par 143 total.
Trailing close behind Kim is Hawaii native and first-round leader Cassy Isagawa. And sitting in a tie for third place is Kim's University of Washington teammate, Coquitlam's Jennifer Yang.
Tournament spokesperson Christopher McGrath said, yesterday, Yang had a flawless round of three-under-par 71.
"Both Yang and Kim would match the best rounds of day two by not making a bogey between the two of them," said McGrath in a press release.
On Thursday morning, McGrath told the Tri-City News the tournament was anybody's game, adding the crown could very well come home to the Tri-Cities.
"There's a lot of people from your area that could come out and win it," said McGrath.
The tournament's top three golfers will represent B.C. at the 2013 Canadian Women's Amateur Championship from July 23 to 26 in Beloeil, Que.
