Tri-City golfers sharp at BC Juvenile event

Nobody was a match, however, for West Vancouver's Alix Kong.

The 15-year-old Kong shot a sizzling 68 Friday to finish with a three-round total of 211 -- a staggering 15 strokes better than runner-up Keanna Mason of Maple Ridge.

Shin was next at nine-over-par 228, while Coquitlam's Ye Rin Suh placed fifth in the 21-shooter group at 13-over 232.

In the B.C. Juvenile boys provincials on the same course, Coquitlam's Oscar Baek and Kevin Vigna finished in a three-way tie for sixth spot along with Surrey's Marcus Brown all at five-over 221

Trevor Yu of Vancouver was first in the 46-finisher field with six-under 210.

Noah Guise of Port Moody finished in a five-way tie for 26th with 18-over 234, while Coquitlam's Jerry Bang was knotted for 43rd at 33-over 249.
