Five Simon Fraser Clan men's soccer players, including Coquitlam forward Carlo Basso and Port Moody defender Matt Besuschko, have been named to the NCAA Div. 2 All-West Region first team, it was announced Tuesday.

Another, defender Anthony DiNicolo -- like Basso, an Archbishop Carney high school grad -- was named to the second squad.

The accolades have been rolling in for Basso since the season ended, having been previously chosen GNAC Co-Player of the Year.

A Maple Ridge product, DiNicolo was also named to the GNAC first all-star team and was selected to the GNAC All-Academic team, as well.

"All of these lads have worked incredibly hard to achieve this success," said Clan head coach Alan Koch.
