A trio of Tri-City players will head south with Team BC for the U15 Football USA International Bowl.
Running back Mahammed Hassan with the Centennial Centaurs, Terry Fox Raven linebacker Jeremie Kankolongo and Matthew Shuen, quarterback with both the Ravens and Coquitlam Chargers minor football team, will make their way to Arlington, Tex. next month for the international showcase.
Team BC will compete in a mini-game tournament Feb. 5 at AT&T Stadium, the $1.15-billion home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. The 40-member B.C. squad will then take on a team of American ninth graders in a full game Feb. 7 in Maverick Stadium at the University of Texas - Arlington.
Team BC will be coached by former CJFL coach of the year Peter McCall, the head coach of Kelowna's Rutland Voodoos. Joining McCall on the sidelines will be Tom Kudaba, co-coach of the Terry Fox Ravens senior varsity team.
