Two Tri-Cities' boys tops in B.C. tennis

Patrick Walker of Coquitlam and Port Moody's Jerry Huang powered their way to 2012 B.C. provincial junior tennis titles last weekend at Vancouver's Jericho club.

Walker defeated West Vancouver's Todd Fought 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 to capture the Boys Under-18 singles division crown, while Huang ousted Coquitlam's Jared Maclean 6-3, 6-3 to grab the Boys U-12 singles championship in an all-Tri-Cities' match-up.

In the Boys U-14 singles final, Port Moody's Jack Davis finished runner-up to Vancouver's Manroop Gill, who won 6-2, 6-0 in the final.

Due to inclement weather, various indoor facilities were also used for the event, which ran Thursday through Monday.
