North Coquitlam United posted a thrilling 3-2 triumph over the Burnaby Selects Royals to grab first place in the boys Under-18 Mundial division at Coquitlam Metro-Ford's 26th annual Labour Day youth soccer tournament for Gold level squads.
NCU also won the boys U-18 Copa division crown via a final-game victory over the CMF Galaxy.
Co-hosts the CMF Nitro nabbed top honours in the boys U-16 Copa grouping with a 2-1 triumph over Surrey-Guildford, while the Port Moody Storm U-13 girls were tops in their Mundial class and the other victorious Tri-City team courtesy of a 1-0 win over the North Shore Renegades.
Other division winners included the North Vancouver Fury in boys U13 Copa; Surrey Guildford-United in boys U-13 Mundial; Vancouver United Wolfpack in girls U-14 Copa; Surrey Guildford-United in girls U-14 Mundial; Prince George Kodiaks in boys U-15 Copa; Abbotsford's Magnuson Ford Mariners in girls U-15 Mundial; Surrey's Central City Elite (with CMF Milan runners up) in boys U-16 Mundial; North Shore Renegades (with CMF Galaxy runners up) in girls U-16 Mundial; Central City Extreme (with CMF Phoenix runners up) in girls U-18 Copa; and North Shore Renegades (with CMF Threat runners up) in girls U-18 Mundial.
