QMJHL Roundup: Drew Elliott helps Islanders rally past Titan 5-3

BATHURST, N.B. — Drew Elliott put away the winner late in the third period as the Charlottetown Islanders stormed back to a 5-3 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Patrick Guay scored and added two assists as Charlottetown (41-12-7) reeled off five unanswered goals. Brett Budgell and Lukas Cormier both had power-play goals, while Xavier Simoneau's goal tied it up.

Francesco Lapenna made 24 saves for the win in net.

Hendrix Lapierre struck twice and Miguël Tourigny added a goal as Acadie-Bathurst (38-17-6) built a 3-0 lead by the 15:22 mark of the first period.

Jan Bednar stopped 39-of-43 shots in net for the Titan.

The Islanders were 2 for 5 on the power play and Acadie-Bathurst was 1 for 6 with the man advantage.

SAGUENAY, Que. — Matej Kaslik and William Rouleau each scored two goals and notched two assists as Chicoutimi (26-31-5) topped Val-d'Or (25-31-5). Alexandre Doucet scored two goals of his own for the Foreurs in the loss, including a short-handed marker.

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Emeric Gaudet scored both the game-tying and game-winning goal in the third period to lead Rouyn-Noranda (25-31-5) past Baie-Comeau (22-31-9). Huskies goalie Samuel Richard made 35 saves in the win.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Nathan Darveau stopped 35 shots as Victoriaville ( 21-33-7) held on to beat Blainville-Boisbriand (27-26-9). Justin Larose scored the game-winning goal for the Tigres at 7:59 of the second period.

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Thomas Darcy scored two goals to help Moncton (27-28-7) down Rimouski (31-21-9). Darcy scored a power-play goal two minutes into the third period that proved to be the game winner.

SYDNEY, N.S. — William Dufour scored his 50th and 51st goals of the season as Saint John (40-17-4) crushed Cape Breton (13-39-7). Sea Dogs netminder Thomas Couture stopped all 22 shots he faced to get the shutout.
