Veteran offensive lineman Jemarcus Hardrick staying with Bombers

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick to a one-year extension. The six-foot-five, 320-pound Nebraska product will be entering his seventh CFL season in 2021, and fifth with Winnipeg.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick to a one-year extension.

The six-foot-five, 320-pound Nebraska product will be entering his seventh CFL season in 2021, and fifth with Winnipeg.

Hardrick started every game for the Blue Bombers last year en route to a Grey Cup win.

Hardrick broke into the league with B.C. in 2014 before joining Saskatchewan the following year.

ROUGHRIDERS SIGN QUARTERBACK

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed quarterback Mason Fine to a three-year contract.

Fine joins the Roughriders after four years at North Texas University, where he became 28th-leading passer in NCAA history.

Fine threw for 12,505 yards, 93 touchdowns and 39 interceptions in 49 games.

TICATS' SPECIAL TEAMS BOSS RETURNS

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have announced special teams co-ordinator Jeff Reinebold will return for his seventh season with the club next year.

Under Reinebold’s tutelage, kick returner Frankie Williams won the 2019 John Agro Award as the league’s most outstanding special teams player and was a CFL all-star.

Reinebold has been in the CFL for 16 seasons, including two years as head coach of Winnipeg from 1997-98.

"He is an outstanding person that contributes to our organization and undeniably to our all-important special teams units," Ticats head coach Orlondo Steinauer said in a statement. "Like (offensive co-ordinator) Tommy (Condell) and (defensive co-ordinator) Mark (Washington), Jeff is an expert in his field who thoroughly prepares and is an incredible teacher."

STAMPS RECEIVER INKS NEW DEAL

The Calgary Stampeders have re-signed American receiver Markeith Ambles.

The University of Houston product had 35 catches for 407 yards in nine games last year before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.

Ambles joined the Stampeders in 2018.

LIONS ADD THREE

The B.C. Lions have added American wide receiver Jazmond Ferguson and defensive linemen Ufomba Kamalu and Dana Levine Jr.

Ferguson was a Seattle Seahawks training-camp cut last year.

Kamalu played two games for the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots in 2018.

Levine Jr. was cut by the New York Giants this year.

EDMONTON HAS BUSY DAY

The Edmonton Football Team re-signed American offensive linemen Tommie Draheim and Eric Lofton, Canadian offensive lineman Jean-Simon Roy, American defensive back Trumaine Washington and American running back Terry Williams.

Roy originally signed with Edmonton this year after starting his CFL career with B.C. last year.

Williams signed with Edmonton this year after three years with Calgary, highlighted by a Grey Cup-record 97-yard punt return touchdown in the 2018 game against Ottawa.

Edmonton also signed American running back Walter Fletcher, defensive back Robert Priester and defensive end Tevaughn Grant.

ARGOS RE-SIGN DEFENSIVE BACK

The Toronto Argonauts have extended the contract of American defensive back Jalin Burrell.

The 24-year-old played two games for the Argos in 2019, recording six tackles.

The club also announced the retirement of American defensive back Tommie Campbell.
