A Movember drive last month by Port Coquitlam firefighters reeled in $2,855 more than last year for the men’s health fundraiser.
Co-chairs Will Brodie and Joel Hamilton donated $15,463 to the annual campaign following a hockey tournament at Planet Ice that saw some 200 firefighters from around Metro Vancouver play in a tournament to support the cause.
Firefighters are three times more likely to die from prostate and testicular cancers than other professionals, Brodie and Hamilton said.
