Thousands of residents left their cars at home after the city of Port Moody shut down a section of St. Johns Street — between Douglas and Moody streets from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. — for the annual Car-Free Day.

Vendors and community booths were set up all day and participants were able to catch performances from Jada McKenzie-Moore, last year’s Tri-Cities’ Got Talent winner, followed by Mostly Marley, Clavinova Nights, Hicklestock, Jeffrey Dawson and John Bowman.

A dance party took place at 6 p.m.
