A Port Coquitlam resident is going for another run for a federal seat under the Green Party banner.

The party’s electoral district association for Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam announced Tuesday that Brad Nickason will be its candidate to challenge incumbent Liberal MP Ron McKinnon.

The two faced each other during the 2015 campaign.

Nickason told The Tri-City News he had been acclaimed as the candidate. “Now, we are connecting with volunteers and getting the campaign started,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Greens in Port Moody-Coquitlam will hold their nomination meeting on July 25 in the City Centre branch of the Coquitlam Public Library; the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

Port Moody residents Bryce Watts and Javney Mohr are seeking the nod.
