Keep an eye on weather forecast when parking in Coquitlam

Restrictions in place for higher-elevation areas when the snow falls
Through March 15, the city of Coquitlam is prohibiting on-street parking on specified roads whenever snow is in the forecast to keep streets clear for plows.

Finding a parking spot in parts of Westwood Plateau area could get more difficult this winter.

Through March 15, the city of Coquitlam is prohibiting on-street parking on specified roads whenever snow is in the forecast to keep streets clear for plows.

The regulations will expand further on Dec. 1, when no-parking restrictions come into effect on problematic routes, including hills and collector roads.

"Coquitlam drivers are asked to follow all posted parking restrictions, keep the streets free of parked vehicles and park in driveways and on private property," the city said in a press release. "Failure to do so may result in fines and/or vehicle towing."

Residents can sign up to be on email notification list alerting them when the restrictions are in place. More information and a map of affected areas is available at coquitlam.ca/winterwise.
