A Port Coquitlam firm with strong ties to kids' groups will be the lead sponsor for the inaugural PoCo Grand Prix.

This week, the city of PoCo named Dominion Lending Centres as the title presenter of the bicycle race, happening in downtown PoCo on July 15.

The national mortgage and leasing company already plays a prominent role in the Tri-Cities supporting such programs as North Coquitlam United Soccer Club, Bullying Ends Here, I am Someone Ending Bullying Society, Breakfast for Learning and Bikes for Kids.

"Being actively involved in our community is one of things we hold dear at Dominion Lending Centres and I cannot wait for the PoCo Grand Prix this July," president and CEO Gary Mauris said in a statement.

PoCo Grand Prix is part of the BC Superweek, which kicked off Tuesday at Samz Pub in PoCo. Other race sponsors include Westwood Cycle, Mahony & Sons, Metro Ford and The Tri-City News.
