Coast Salish First Nations members along with Greenpeace and other environmental supporters gathered at North Vancouver's Whey-ah-wichen (Cates Park) on Saturday, July 14 to launch a protest in front of the Kinder Morgan Westridge Marine Terminal in Burrard Inlet. Around 200 people gathered on the beach at Cates Park before the flotilla, led by a group of elders in traditional Coast Salish canoes, headed toward the terminal to highlight the Indigenous led objection to the expansion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline and oil tanker traffic.
