A Coquitlam elementary, middle and high school are the latest School District 43 facilities to report COVID-19 exposures.

Fraser Health has flagged Leigh elementary for exposures on Nov. 10, 11, 12, 16 and 17, though only the final three dates remain active on the health authority’s portal.

Fraser Health has also listed an exposure at Montgomery middle on Nov. 13 and at Centennial secondary for exposures on Nov. 13, 16 and 17.

This is the third time Centennial secondary has been listed for a set of exposures.

According to the health authority, a school “exposure” usually indicates a single person with a lab-confirmed COVID-19 infection attended school during their infectious period.

A school “cluster,” on the other hand, indicates possible school-based transmission with two or more lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 attending school while infectious, and an “outbreak” indicates “multiple individuals with lab-confirmed COVID-19 infection” and that “transmission is likely widespread.”
