Re. "Action needed" (Opinion, The Tri-City News, May 24).
I agree with your editorial that there needs to be more sensible rules about city councillors transitioning to MLAs or MPs.
I would suggest having a temporary person fill in the MLA post until it is practical for a councillor to resign his or her city post. This way, the work of both councillor and MLA are done. One possible choice is the incumbent MLA - at least this person has some experience and is available since they have no job. Another choice is someone from the party the councillor is a member of.
