EDITORIAL: Plan or tan?

It's officially summer and if you think it's time to take a break from politics, public meetings and the like, think again. The fun has just begun.

It's officially summer and if you think it's time to take a break from politics, public meetings and the like, think again.

The fun has just begun.

This week, for example, Port Moody finished up its last open house on its major overhaul of the city's official community plan but you can still send in your thoughts via email ([email protected].).

A giant new neighbourhood is taking shape in northeast Coquitlam and a public hearing on the Partington Creek Neighbourhood Plan will be held at city hall on Monday, June 24 at 7 p.m..

Meanwhile, in the west end of Coquitlam, an open house on the draft Maillardville Neighbourhood Plan is set for Thursday, June 27.

In each case, more density is planned that will change your city forever.

Sure, it's summer and there are other things that grab your attention, but if you don't get involved or fail to pay attention to what's going on, you can't complain if you don't like the way things turn out.
