The Editor,

On Tuesday, we gathered at MP James Moore's office in Port Moody to protest the federal Conservatives' Fair Elections Act. We were civil and polite, and most were members of Mr. Moore's constituency. The office was virtually empty but the door was locked - staff refused to unlock the door.

But we shouldn't have been so surprised. This is how Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government operates, by hiding and locking people out of voting as well as constituency offices.

It's time to wake up and stand up to stop Mr. Harper from remaking Canada in his own image.

Voters need to recognize that their basic rights to vote are being rewritten and eroded.

Stop the (un)Fair Elections Act.
