The Editor,
I was just in the St. James's Well pub in Newport Village having a light meal with a friend when the server informed us that our bill had been taken care of by a regular customer.
This gesture really lifted our spirits, especially those of my friend, as she is presently spending all her time driving over the Port Mann Bridge and visiting and helping her husband, who is in hospital.
We, in turn, gave the server a good tip and left with my friend saying that gesture was just what she needed. I intend to make the same gesture to someone else and know it will have a similar effect.
