Of the hundreds of kids screaming, running and competing at the Como Lake Relays last week, I congratulate the one who received no fanfare and didn’t take home a ribbon.
He is the boy with tired legs who gulped air and continued to finish the course, even though most of the competitors had crossed the line and were already being escorted home by their parents.
I salute you, young man, I have never seen such determination and mettle. You are an outstanding athlete.
