The Editor,
With autumn being here, the leaves are falling from the trees at the Nelson Street fire hall.
The city's answer to this is that they send out a gardening crew to collect the leaves — but how? The crew blows the leaves onto Nelson and then bags them.
The way this has been done is very questionable. It would have been much more sensible to have somebody at city hall authorize the purchase of rakes at Rona next door, hand them to the firefighters and ask them to rake the leaves up in their idle time.
