The Editor,

I have a son and a daughter who are taking swimming lessons on weekday evenings at Hyde Creek rec centre in Port Coquitlam. They are young so we use the family change rooms.

We often find garbage on the floor and the bench (e.g., admittance bracelets, food wrappers, etc.). Recently, there was some unidentified greenish matter probably coming from someone who had cleared their throat. And sometimes, the women's change room is in no better condition.

I can't imagine that people's bathrooms at home are the same.

I feel for the lifeguards and maintenance staff who have to clean up after inconsiderate clients? It's everyone's responsibility to leave the change room the way they would like to have it.

Suzanne L'Heureux, Port Coquitlam
