The Editor,

I have driven into the transfer station off United Boulevard five times. After four of those times, I experienced a slow leak in one of my tires.

The culprit is always a small stainless steel screw, the type that is used to attach exterior panels to the backs of washers, dryers and similar appliances. These little devils are too small to be picked up with a broom and, as they are stainless, cannot be picked up by a magnetic sweeper.

Be aware.
