Letter: You live in bear habitat? Do your part

The Editor, Re: “ 30 bears destroyed in Tri-Cities for conflict ” (The Tri-City News, Dec. 19). I felt sick to my stomach when I read this.

Re: “30 bears destroyed in Tri-Cities for conflict” (The Tri-City News, Dec. 19).

I felt sick to my stomach when I read this. 

Really? 

There is absolutely no excuse for residents to not put their garbage out safely on garbage day! It is plain ignorance to not do so. 

I would come down so hard on these offenders. Remember, you are living in the bears habitat against their wishes. The bears were there thousands of years before humans arrived. Therefore, you owe them enough respect to help them co-habitate in a situation they did not create. 

Do your part!
