Letter: Keep dogs away from Lights at Lafarge

"Dogs do not have the capacity to appreciate Christmas lights or any other beautiful or artistic thing," says the letter writer.

The city of Coquitlam's hugely popular Lights at Lafarge attraction is scheduled to open n Saturday, Nov. 30.

The Editor,

As we approach that wonderful time of the year again, I am imploring the city to please not have the Dog Days of Winter event at Lights at Lafarge.

Dogs do not have the capacity to appreciate Christmas lights or any other beautiful or artistic thing.

Last year, my husband and I, as well as many other visitors, had toxic, dangerous dog feces on our shoes after visiting the light display. Its always bad, everywhere in the city, but particularly so in the dark, with a light covering of snow, to spot the feces smears all over the trail while trying to enjoy the lights.

Do we really have to let every nice event be destroyed by dogs?
